| The Effects of the Stalking Campaign on a Young Girl |
From 2001 until the present I have been the target of a stalking campaign perpetrated by a former romantic interest of mine. This woman currently works for the Defense Intelligence Agency and has used her position there to forward onto law enforcement an intentionally false belief that my political beliefs and activities constitute terrorism (an absurd, unfounded, and unsupportable charge).
In order to make her false campaign believable, she published defamatory articles about me and even published threatening and rambling diatribes online in my name. For more information on just a handful of things this stalker and her co-stalkers have done, see this short list.
One of the victims of this stalking has been my daughter. They began effecting her life when she was four years old and have continued to effect her life until this day (ten years old). Below is a short list of the effects they had upon her:
One of the stalkers, let us call him “J”, stalked us at our home. His activities frightened my daughter. She refused to sleep alone in her room for a number of years. She is still reluctant to sleep alone. Until “J” began stalking us at our home, she was able to sleep blissfully apart.
The stalkers placed false and defamatory disinformation online claiming that this beautiful girl is not my daughter (she is my daughter).
The stalkers placed false and defamatory disinformation online asserting that my daughter sells oranges at a freeway offramp. This constitutes a racist attack upon my daughter (she is half-Salvadoran). My daughter has never worked in an capacity.
The stalkers threatened to kidnap my daughter by sending us 8500 emails contain said threat.
Due to the harassment and threats, my daughter has had to change school districts three times. When she was four, we had no move due to the threats. This caused us to take her out of her Montessori school. Not being able to put her in another Montessori school, this derailed her Montessori education (which we wished to give her) and forced her into public school.
She attended public school in Massachusetts. When we received the kidnapping threats, we had to move again. This time we moved to a place where Spanish was the primary language. Through our hard work, she continued to do well in school, but she had to work harder than the other students to adjust to a new language, culture, and school system.
After two years, convinced that we were now able to protect my daughter from the threats, we moved back to an English speaking area where we have been for two years now. Through her hard effort, she adjusted again. However, due to the harassment, she has had to change friends, schools, and languages.
Since the stalkers have used to the Internet to obtain information used for harassing us, we have had to assume that she could only be protected by keeping all identifying information about her offline. Consequently, we have been forced to deny her school system the right to put her name, work, or any other information about her online. We are also forced to keep her name out of her local newspaper. When she achieves well (as she has by being on the honor role and receiving various awards at school), she has not been able to enjoy the pleasure of public acclaim, due to the need to control information about her. Some may think our efforts to protect her are excessive, but they have not seen what these stalkers have done to others by doctoring images online.
My daughter is not allowed to share any information about what I do for a living, where I work, or anything else about me with anyone. Unlike other children, she cannot brag about her parents. Instead, when asked what he father does for a living, she replies “I don't know” or “Why do you care?” She knows that the stalkers exist and that she must protect private information to keep herself safe.
I ask you, what kind of person would do these things to a young girl? Are these stalkers any better than child molesters? Is this what the “War on Terror” has come to? This is what happens when we allow government officials access to personal information. They abuse it in order to achieve their personal pleasure. In this case, a former romantic interest uses her access to harass an entire family. Personally, I am disgusted with this person.
